Accommodation

To book accommodation close to HTB we recommend using Event Express to book your accommodation for EMEA Week 2010; as each time you book through them they will make a donation towards the work of Alpha International.

How to get to HTB

HTB is located in the heart of Knightsbridge at the end of Cottage Place, just
off the Brompton Road (A4) and behind the Brompton Oratory. For comprehensive
information about travelling in and around London, please see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tf.

From Airports

If travelling during peak periods, please add 30 minutes to the
following estimated journey times. Please note that the London Underground does
not operate between 12.30am
and 6.30am.

Underground (Piccadilly Line) direct to South
Kensington, 40 mins

Gatwick Airport

South East Trains or Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station, 30
mins
Then Underground (Circle / District Lines) to South
Kensington, 10 mins

Luton Airport

Thameslink to Kings Cross, 20 mins
Then Underground (Piccadilly Line) to Knightsbridge, 20 mins

London City Airport

Docklands Light Railway to Tower Hill, 40 mins
Then Underground (Circle / District Lines) to South
Kensington, 25 mins

Stansted Airport

Standsted Express to Liverpool
Street, 45 min
Then Underground (Circle Line) to South Kensington,

Bus

Bus numbers 9,10 or 52 to Royal Albert Hall
From the Royal Albert Hall walk along Kensington Gore towards Exhibition Road,
turn right into Exhibition Road and walk to Princes Gate Mews (a Mormon church is on the corner). Turn left into Princes Gate Mews and walk straight ahead until you reach the HTB vicarage and car park (road ends). Turn right into the car park and walk along the alley until you reach a larger car park and Church House. HTB Church is across the car park.

Bus numbers 14,74,49,345,414 or C1 to South
Kensington

If you are coming from the east, ask for the stop which is two stops past Harrods. Cross the road and carry on walking west until you reach Cottage Place and the signs for HTB. If coming from the west, ask for the stop at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Walk along Cromwell Road, passing the museum and the Brompton Oratory on your left. Turn left down Cottage Place towards HTB.

Bus number 70 to Queen’s Gate

Ask for the stop nearest Cromwell Road. Turn into Cromwell Road and walk straight on, passing the Natural History Museum on your left. Cross Exhibition Road and continue past the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Brompton Oratory. Turn left down Cottage Place towards HTB.

Coach

The main National Express coach station is at Victoria Station and
serves all areas of the country. From Victoria Station take the Underground
(Circle / District Lines) to South Kensington,10 mins

Train

All London mainline stations have associated underground stations and bus stations for easy connections.

HTB is about the same distance between Knightsbridge (Piccadilly
Line) and South Kensington (Circle / District
Lines) Underground stations.

Car Parking

We regret that we are unable to provide space for you to park your
car.

Babies / Children

Please do not bring babies and children onsite during the conference, as we are unable to provide facilities to care for them.

Upon Arrival:

Registration

Registration will be held from 8.30
– 9.30am on Monday 7 June at Holy Trinity Brompton. If you arrive
after this time please go to the Welcome Lounge to register.
When you register you will receive a delegate pack with all the notes and
information that you will need for the week including a programme and maps.
Please make sure that you keep your delegate pack with you at all times.
However, if at any time during the week you lose your delegate pack, please go
to the Welcome Desk at the back of the church.

Name Badge & Timetable

You will receive a name badge in your delegate pack. Please
remember to put your name badge on immediately after registration and keep it
on at all times, as this will give you access to the sessions. The church
grounds are open to the public therefore it is necessary for us to check name
badges at meal times and at the entrance to the church. If you lose your name
badge, please go to the Welcome Desk where we can provide you with a
replacement.

Welcome Lounge

The Welcome Lounge is located in the Hut across the car park from
the main church and offers the following facilities:
• Free internet access
• Tea and coffee
• Bursary collection sign-in
• Accommodation enquiry desk
The Welcome Lounge will be attended during the hours it is open. Please feel
free to ask the staff member on duty any questions you have during your time
with us.

Bursaries

If it has been agreed in writing by Alpha International
that you are to receive a bursary, please visit the Welcome Lounge as soon
possible to make a bursary collection appointment. Please bring your original
flight receipt and ticket, and photocopies, with you to your appointment.

During the Week:

Information, Messages and Lost Property

Please go to the Welcome Lounge in the Hut or the Welcome Desk at
the back of the church if you have any queries.

The Message Board will be in the foyer of the church. If you wish to leave a
message for anyone (including Alpha International
staff), please do so on the Message Board. Please also check the board
frequently to see if anyone is trying to contact you.

Lost property will be kept in the Welcome Lounge.

Meals

The following meals will be provided by Alpha International during EMEA
Week: Monday - Lunch and Dinner; Tuesday – Lunch; Wednesday – Lunch; and Dinner
(for those attending the Alpha evening); Thursday - Lunch and Dinner; Friday –
Lunch (for those who have scheduled meetings onsite).

Translation Equipment

The main sessions of the conference will be translated into selected languages. Translation headsets are available for these languages in the balcony of the church. If you borrow translation equipment please ensure that you return it at the end of each day. If you are unable to return your headset, you will be liable for the replacement cost of £250 per set.

Bookshop and Recording Orders

The Bookshop is located in the Crypt downstairs in the church and
will be open throughout the week.
Recordings of sessions will be available on CD. If you wish to order copies
please place your order through the HTB website at http://www.htb.org.uk/bookshop

Public Phones

The nearest public telephone is located a short distance from HTB.
Walk to the end of the HTB driveway (Cottage Place), turn left and walk past Brompton Square, where you will see the phones at the bus stop.

Costs

Unfortunately, Alpha International is unable to meet any additional costs that you may incur during your stay in London, such as additional meals, transportation or accommodation.

No-smoking Policy

We are committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of our employees by providing a safe place of work and protecting all workers, users, and visitors from exposure to smoke.

Smoking is banned on all our premises. The ban applies to anything that can be smoked, which includes cigarettes, pipes (including water pipes such as shisha and hookah pipes), cigars and herbal cigarettes.

All our workplaces (including our vehicles) are smoke-free and all employees and visitors have a right to a smoke-free environment.

Our no-smoking policy has been devised on the basis of advice from professional bodies. This policy complies with the Health Act 2006 and associated regulations."
