More than 1200 church leaders from all overAmerica attended an Alpha conference in Orlando, Florida, this week.
Alpha pioneer Nicky Gumbel was among thespeakers, who included Jamie Haith, Tricia Neill, Paul Cowley, Pete Greig, andGraham Tomlin.
The conference was opened by Dr JoelHunter, Senior Pastor of Northland Church in Orlando, which hosted the event.
Dr Hunter said, 'Over the years, I've seenfor myself just how transformative the Alpha course can be in people's lives.Many in central Florida have come to faith in Christ through Alpha, and it hasbeen our privilege to host the course here at the church.'
Worship was led by Brenton Brown, thepopular singer and songwriter based in southern California, writer of 'Come,now is the time' and 'Your love is amazing'.
Opening prayers were said by Pastor JacksonSenyonga, Senior Pastor of Christian Life Church in Kampala, Uganda, which has22,000 people attending each week. He was joined in a live internet link-up viaa big screen by a large congregation attending a prayer meeting in Kampala atthe same time, who prayed for the Orlando event.
