400 at Alpha UK Vision Day

in

More than 400 Alpha leaders from all over the UK attended the annual Vision Day at Holy Trinity Brompton, London, today.

There was a time of feedback from various UK regions, including Scotland (where Scottish Office director Fiona Marks reported on "Hotel Alpha") , Manchester (a report on the City Alpha initiative), and Sunningdale, Berks (a report on a street party for 500 people).

Delegates were given an exclusive look at poster images for this September's UK Alpha Invitation and the new Invitation DVD for churches was shown for the first time.

Nicky Gumbel delivered a talk on the vision for the coming year and there were small group discussions on reaching students, ESOL courses, over 65s, prayer and Alpha, school gate Alpha and the workplace, among many others.

24-7 founder Pete Greig spoke about prayer and then led a time of prayer and ministry.

What a wonderful day! I

What a wonderful day! I have come home refreshed and 'fired up' for God! Nikki's talk in the morning was so full of passion you just couldn't help but get excited about what God is going to do next! Also, Pete Greig's talk in the afternoon was so powerful and really brought home to me the importance of prayer and showed me just how much I had been neglecting this essential aspect of my walk with Jesus. Thank you HTB for making us feel so welcome and loved and I pray that God will continue to use you to bless and refresh and equip others to spread the word. Fill us up and send us out!

Thankyou HTB for yet another wonderful vision Day. It was indeed great to see Nicky so fired up about "claiming back for the Lord" the "For Sale" churches. I thank God that Nicky does "have a voice for the Lord" and is willing to use it in places that matter and where it can make a difference. Pete Grieg's talk was awesome and so affirming as in my own parochial situation we too have a real sense of the Lord callling us to deeper levels of prayer and intercession. thanks to everyone involved - hospitality was as ever wonderful.

I so enjoyed the day on Friday. I felt so "spoilt" and well looked after by the whole team - served instead of serving - so refreshing and uplifting!! I came away inspired by new ideas of how to deliver Alpha - and convicted of the need for Prayer. It was so good to visit HTB after years of seeing it all on video!!! Our God is so..oo good...

Thank you everyone involved

Thank you everyone involved in Friday's Vision Day. I've arrived home in York with a notepad full of ideas. Now the hard work begins.

You are an inspiration to the church in the UK reminding us all of what can be done in God's name and in His Spirit's power. Your vision, passion and action are a wake up call when we feel disappointed and defeated. Please keep setting the pace and sharing the stories of the great God who calls us on to greater things. Thanks for another great day when your generosity overwhelms us and your faith challenges us.

Thanks for an excellent day-

Thanks for an excellent day- my wife and I both came away feeling refreshed and encouraged and very blessed by all we heard and our team from Markyate Baptist Church were equally blessed and encouraged.

A challenging way to spend a day in Lent. There had been suggestions that this 'extra' day in February sould be a day for 'the planet' - and what a day of prayer for the planet it was...

I woke up this morning

I woke up this morning re-living the fantastic day we had last Friday at HTB and this led me to look up and log onto the 'Friends' page. My mind is still full of the ideas and inspiration received from the talks by Nicky Gumbel and Pete Grieg. We live in a small rural parish in Hampshire where the talk is often closing churches or creating larger benefices by not replacing ministers. It was so refreshing to hear Nicky talk of 'planting churches' and the wonderful ideas from the groups on 'school gate' `youth', `pint and curry Alpha'. We held our first adult ALPHA last autumn and are now planning at least one course for autumn 2008. Thank you again to the HTB ALPHA team for a truly inspirational day.

So sorry I missed it this

So sorry I missed it this year, but I hope the North London Equip and Refresh tomorrow will do the inspiring for me. I am really impressed by this website now - haven't looked for a while. Great resource - thanks HTB.
