400 at Prison Ministry Conference

More than 430 people attended the PrisonMinistry conference at Holy Trinity Brompton last week.

The guests represented a wide range ofprofessions including Prison Officers, Chaplains, ex-offenders, Members ofParliament and church members.

The one-day conference was aimed to refreshand equip all those who are involved in working with prisoners and ex-offenders.The day endeavored to demonstrate the impact that the Christian church can havein changing society for the better.

Those that spoke at the conference includedRt Hon Iain Duncan Smith, for Centre for Social Justice and Alan Duncan MP, theShadow Minister for Prisons.

During the day the guests heard some movingtestimonies from people involved in Prison Ministry, including Shane Taylor,who was once classed as one of the nations most dangerous offenders beforebeing transformed by God.

A time of ministry was led bySuperintendent John Sutherland, founder of Peace Alliance Revd Nims Obunge andRevd Paul Cowley.
