The start of your Alpha course is fast approaching and you’d really love to do a great launch event. But, maybe you’re short of ideas, maybe you haven’t got enough time to organise the kind of event you’d like... maybe, you’d just like someone to take care of it for you?

We are hugely excited to hear of the hundreds and hundreds of Alpha launch events taking place in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England.  Your local Alpha launch is supported by a National Advertising Campaign and together we are making it easier to invite people to come and give Alpha a go. The campaign has a huge impact for the Alpha course in the UK.

Thousands of UK churches are set to take part in the UK's thirteenth national advertising initiative this September.

A Student Alpha course was launched at a nightclub in London's Soho in October.

THOUSANDS of churches hosted Alpha launch events across the UK as part of the national Alpha Invitation. Supper parties, drinks parties and a wide range of other events including a street party barbecue for 750 people have taken place to kick off local Alpha courses.

Alpha has set up a justgiving.com page to enable people to give to the Alpha poster campaign.

A national poster campaign centred on the question 'If God did exist, what would you ask?' is to form the basis of Alpha's annual advertising initiative this September.

In September 1998, Alpha held its first national 'Initiative' with a ?1 million poster campaign. Similar initiatives have been held across the UK each year since. Mark Elsdon-Dew takes a look back:
