Alpha has joined forces with a number of other Christian organisations and churches around the world in a campaign to fight global poverty.

The Micah Challenge, whose members include World Vision, Compassion International, Tearfund and the Baptist World Alliance, campaigns for the halving of global poverty by 2015, a commitment which was signed by all 189 United Nations member states during a special Millennium Summit in New York in September 2000.
