Worship Central Update

WorshipWeb.jpg

Around 4,500 worship leaders and friends from all over Britain took part in last year’s inaugural five Worship Central events – and many more are expected in the second ‘season’.

Worship Central Season Two – led once again by worship leaders Tim Hughes and Al Gordon – was launched on 27 October at Holy Trinity Brompton.
Around 1,000 worship leaders, musicians and worshippers from all around the world attended the first event of the new season.

Speakers included Pete Greig, Mark Stibbe, Tim Hughes, Al Gordon and Simon Dixon.

In March 2008 Worship Central moves to the 2,000-seat Westminster Central Hall in the heart of London. Guest speakers will be Mike Pilavachi, Matt Redman and leading theologian NT Wright, the Bishop of Durham.

A ‘bring your pastor special’ Worship Central event will be held at Westminster Central Hall with guests including veteran Canadian worship leader and pastor Brian Doerksen, Bishop Sandy Miller and Vicar Nicky Gumbel.

There will also be an event at Queen’s Park, Glasgow on 26 April. Forthcoming events are set to be announced in California, the Philippines and Singapore.

The Blog written by Tim Hughes and Al Gordon on the Worship Central website has won a national award. The blog scooped top prize for the ‘Most Original Worship Blog’ at the Premier Christian Media awards ceremony in September at St Stephen’s Wallbrook in London, hosted by Maria Toth and Jeff Lucas. The prizes were given out by the Bishop of London.

Worshipcentral.org continues to be updated with a new song every month and the Worship Central Podcast continues to be available on itunes.
