If you are running an Alpha course How To Run A Course is a summary of the core components of the course. Alternatively download the 40-page guideline The Alpha Admininstrator's Handbook.

The Alpha course is a practical introduction to the Christian faith and is open to anyone. It runs as a series of weekly meetings that each involve an informal meal, a talk and small group discussion. There are fifteen talks covering the basic principles of the Christian faith given over a ten-week period, including a weekend or day away. It is relaxed, non threatening, low key, friendly and fun. The course is for everyone, especially those wanting to investigate Christianity, new Christians, newcomers to the church and those wanting to brush up on the basics and can work for groups of any size.

Alpha is supported by all of the main denominations and has had great impact in a variety of settings, such as prisons, schools, universities, workplaces, hospitals, rural areas, inner cities, homeless projects and churches!

The syllabus and content of the course is contained in the book Alpha - Questions of Life. A full explanation of running the course can be found in the book How to Run the Alpha Course – Telling Others. Both books are available from the Alpha Publications Hotline .

The Alpha Administrator’s Handbook has been designed to take you through every stage of setting up and running an Alpha course on a step-by-step basis and is available free from ukalpha@alpha.org.
