Alpha Friends

Monday 3rd September saw an amazingly good start to the launch of our Alpha course. We started praying and planning for our September Invitation night in January this year.

The year included a visit to HTB by 12 of us for the Vision day, this was for us a time of real blessing and encouragement. That visit was followed up by my attendance at HTB for the Alpha training week which once again proved to be an invaluable part of our preparation.

We had 29 new people sign up for our course after an evening that included the beautiful testimony of Gee Walker on Christian forgiveness after the brutal murder of her son. I was mindful of our Lords words throughout the whole evening, "My Peace I give you, I do not give as the world gives, but My Peace I give you." We used the theme that if you wanted to know what enables this lady to express such a genuine Christian love and forgiveness in the face of so much racial hatred and tragedy then come and find out about Christianity on the Alpha Course.

We have prayed, planned, prepared and trained together as a church for this and the first fruits has been, for us, a huge increase in numbers of people from outside our church who have signed up for the course. So now we look forward to our first Alpha Evening next week and trust that the Holy Spirit will be at work. Glory and Honour be to Our Heavenly Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
