I am "Jimmy" from the Philippines particularly Malaybalay City , a remote place in Mindanao and an hour and 20 minutes ride from Manila by plane and another 2 hours ride from Cagayan de Oro City by land. I joined Alpha last October 2007, here in our place and been very active since then in the Alpha Course. We started formally doing Alpha Course in the "Barangay" a unit under a city as a pilot course with participants of all ages and runs with two sessions per weeks that started from December 2007 and was finished by February 2008. It was welcomed by the parishioner and by the populace with resounding feedbacks and acceptance. From then on we conducted courses in others barangays a week later that continued until today not only among parishes bu the workplace, in prison, media station, to the lay people, catechists and youth. The success of our evangelization caught the attention of the National Director that two days ago he visited us and documented all our activities for we are doing these courses here simultaneously in all levels. We find these approach very effective in sharing our Christian faith. The Bishop in this Diocese of Malaybalay together with the parish priests were so cooperative with our courses and helps in the recruitments for additional members to be in the core group. We planned to continue our course to the neighboring cities and municipalities within the Diocese of Malaybalay until all parishes will be covered with the help of the National Director of Alpha Course in this country.
