On 8th and 9th April, an Asia Pacific Alpha Conference and Prison Ministry evening took place in Singapore. Around 100 people from Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka amongst others came to the Prison Ministry evening which Paul Cowley led together with Tim Khoo and Neil Youngquist from Prison Fellowship International and Jeannie Chiu from Prison Fellowship Singapore.
The evening started with a meal and was followed by presentations on Alpha for Prisons, Caring for Ex-offenders and Prison Fellowship programmes. It was a real blessing that the conference coincided with a Prison Fellowship International leaders' training programme, and as a result we were able to do a joint prison visit at Changi prison with around 15 Prison Fellowship national executive directors from around the world.
We now pray that many Alpha courses will start in prisons, many prisoners will be met at the prison gate by local churches and for a closer partnership with Prison Fellowship in many countries in Asia Pacific.
