Alpha Friends

We have had a good history of successful Alpha courses and launch nights but last night was our best by far! 78 people came to a local Indian restaurant at the church's expense for a delicious buffet. We gave thanks to the Muslim owner for offering us hospitality during ramadam, Jesus is Lord of all! A short and entertaining talk, engaged the crowd and a total of 33 people signed up to do the course, with others already down to come. I gave out more invites 2 days before on the street locally and at least 11 people were there as a response to that, a local Chrisitan community also included our flyers in welcome packs to a group of local preforming arts students, they only received the packs in the morning and 22 came - students = free meal = no brainer! Although these may not have signed up to do Alpha they have witnesses the church being generous, united, willing to help and serve - so rather than be disappointed I remembered "A man went out to sow" - Praise God that last night a whole group of men and women went out sowing. Lord, we pray that we might harvest with shouts of joy!
