There are now more than 600 Student Alpha Courses in over 30 countries around the world
Central London Student Alpha Course took place in Autumn at the Tiger Tiger nightclub near Piccadilly Circus, London.
The course was a partnership between six churches from various denominations. Over 200 students attended the launch event with free food, live music, close up magic and a talk from Jamie Haith, with the Bishop of London attending to offer his support of the venture. Nearly 100 guests attended the course, which had been condensed to seven weeks to fit into term time and included new multi-media elements in the talks.
In September, more than 1,000 young people in a Budapest shopping centre heard Student Alpha Director Jamie Haith give an introduction to the Christian faith and invite them to local Alpha courses.
The event was part of the city's congress on Evangelism and was held in Budapest's largest shopping centre.
Jamie spoke on a massive stage built for the occasion. He was preceded by a Hungarian / American gospel band and followed by an Austrian rock band.
The first ever South Korea Student Alpha Conference was held in Seoul in April. The two-day conference was attended by more than 125 student workers and was aimed at equipping and training student leaders to run Student Alpha courses at the local university.
