“Wow, It’s a fantastic venue”, “I didn’t know what to expect”, “I was expecting a stuffy old church”. These were some of the comments from the 200 plus students that attended the launch night of the first ever Central London Student Alpha course that was held last Autumn at Tiger Tiger, a nightclub located a stones throw from Piccadilly Circus in the heart of the capital.
The 8 week course was organised by a small army of students and student workers from six London churches from various denominations (Anglican, New Frontiers and black Pentecostal) all with a heartfelt desire and passion to follow Jesus’ command to go and meet people where they’re at. As the Bishop of London commented at the launch party, “Nowadays the church cannot simply say to people come to us as we are. If the church is serious about wanting to issue this invitation to freedom and life in all its fullness it’s got to be ‘Go to them’.”
University is an incredible mission field and we’re desperate to see the campuses of our of our nation become beacons of light. If you’d like more info about the course at Tiger Tiger or are interested running a course yourself please email
